Dear Tang Soo Do Students & Parents:
We are very happy to invite everyone to the Annual Region 22 Championship! This year will mark our 12th regional tournament, and I encourage all of our Tang Soo Do family members to join us for this day of friendly competition and camaraderie. Assistant Grandmaster Stine from California will be our guest
of honor this year. We hope that we can offer him an outstanding showing of Region 22 spirit!
We had such an amazing turn out for Group Hyung that this event will be offered again this year for both gup AND dan teams. Each school can be represented by a three-person team to perform a synchronized form. One Gup team and one Black Belt team are permitted from each school. Talk to your instructor about rules, guidelines, and registration.
Assistant Grandmaster Stine will be offering teaching sessions during the competition. Announcements will be made during the day regarding times. All students are welcome to participate!
Think about sticking around for the end of the championship! We will be concluding the event with Masters' Demonstrations, the always exciting fundraiser in support of the Scholarship Fund, and presentation of the Grand Champion trophies.
All applications must be postmarked and/or received by the Tournament Committee by Tuesday, February 28th. Be sure that you adhere to the deadlines if you wish to compete. We will not accept any applications after the deadline date.
We ask that all Black Belts who will be attending complete the volunteer portion of the application to assist with judging, scorekeeping, timekeeping or other duties. Judges and ring assignments will be determined in advance and posted at the competition site. All studio owners should report their Black Belts who can be assigned to judging duties via email to the Judging Coordinator (Master Mark Jorgensen) by March 15th.
I hope that all area Tang Soo Do students are able to participate and support this championship event. We should complete the competition part of the program by approximately 5:00 p.m. As usual, there will be no entry fees for parents and family members.
Master Scott Homschek
Regional Director
IMPORTANT Championship Reminders
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
-
Friday Night Hospitality Suite
Each year, the Tournament Committee hosts a Friday evening Hospitality Suite at the hotel for all guests and competitors. The Hospitality Suite is a place to relax, meet up with instructors and friends, grab a bite to eat, and perhaps meet someone new. Schedules and division assignments are available so that competitors can arrive at the tournament well prepared. Hotel scheduling requires that the Hospitality Suite closes at 9pm.
Because hospitality will be closing early at the hotel, light refreshments will be offered after Assistant Grandmaster Stine’s class at River Valley for those who attended.
-
T-Shirt Pre-Ordering
Competitor and family member t-shirts can be ordered online at a discounted price of $22 each. Only a handful of sizes will be available for purchase the day of the Championship. T-shirt prices will be $25 each at the tournament. Make sure that you order early to save!!
-
Mandatory Registration for All Members of Creativity Teams & Group Hyung Teams
